About the Position
Beginning January 13 to June 27, 2025, the Special Events Intern is responsible for assisting and
supporting the Events and Corporate Partnerships team with the planning and execution of
events for the Company including the annual fundraising Gala taking place in June. Reporting to
the Manager of Special Events and Corporate Partnerships, the ideal candidate is hard working,
reliable and willing to go above and beyond to provide superior donor event experiences.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Planning and execution of the annual fundraising Gala and Company events
- On-site coordination of Company events at the Walter Carsen Centre and Four Seasons
Centre for Performing Arts - Assist in the coordination of event activities including, but not limited to; event set up
and tear down, rentals, quotes, food and beverage, mailings, volunteers, database - maintenance and logistics
- Additional administrative tasks include Gala committee organization, schedule meetings,
prepare meeting minutes, maintain events calendar, and coordinate space bookings - Other administrative tasks and responsibilities as required
Qualifications - Recent graduate or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in event management,
fundraising, hospitality, or related field - Experience with event planning and delivery, an asset
- Event experience with not for profit organizations, an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Understanding and appreciation for the arts and fundraising within the City of Toronto,
considered an asset - Highly organized, with ability to manage a variety of tasks with multiple deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Working Requirements - January 13 to June 27, 2025
- Full time, 35 hours per week. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm (*your
schedule may be set in accordance to coop program requirements and class schedule) - Work out of main office (Walter Carsen Centre at 470 Queens Quay West, Toronto) and
the Theatre (Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts at 145 Queen St. West,
Toronto) - Occasional evening and weekend work is required
- Occasional moderate to heavy physical activity. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for setup and
tear down of events
