Youth Job Link (YJL)

Youth Job Link (YJL) is a youth employment program geared at preparing youths between the ages of 15 - 29 in obtaining their first job. The program includes training sessions on the following topics:

  • Career Management
  • Career Exploration
  • Job Coaching
    • Resume
    • Interview
    • Online Applications
  • Job Readiness
    • Customer Service
    • Teamwork
    • Conflict Management
  • Job Matching

How Youth Job Link Works

  • Youths will attend training sessions to give them the skills necessary to obtain and retain employment
  • Employment Specialists will work with youths in applying for jobs and finding placements
  • Upon obtaining a job, youths will be eligible to receive up to $300 in training supports
    • Training supports can cover work attire, safety equipment, transportation, training and other items

Youth Eligibility

  • Between the ages of 15 - 29
  • Have never been employed
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Conventional Refugee
